Within every woman lies a sacred trifold of feminine power -- the Triple Goddess --  the all-knowing Matriarch, where all three faces coexist harmoniously within, coiled and woven together as a Divine reflection of the natural world’s eternal rhythm.

Representing youth, purity, and the awakening of life itself; she is the spark of new beginnings, the fresh bloom of the soul, the first breath of becoming and the whisper of what is yet to unfold.  Wild and full of untamed potential, she is like the wildflower that grows without permission -- alive with potential, full of promise and possibility -- a spirit unbound by the world’s expectations.  The Maiden answers to no one but her own becoming and unfiltered authenticity. 

As a mirror of the moon, the Maiden rising is an alchemical ode to her allure and untapped power.  It is in her creativity, independence, and her ability to experience awe that we see her luminous beauty burgeoning and her role as enchantress awakening -- a radiant force of inspiration, ever shifting, ever becoming. 

Such enchantment finds roots in ancient lore where the essence of the Maiden finds form in the tale of Blodeuwedd (pronounced blod-EH-weth – meaning Flower-Faced) -- the flower-born Welsh Goddess of Beauty and wild sovereignty, crafted by spell and bloom, veiled in petals and peril.  Created from the blossoms of broom, meadowsweet and oak, Blodeuwedd was conjured by her magician cousins, Math and Gwydion, to be the most beautiful maiden as bride for Lleu Llaw Gyffes — a man cursed never to have a human wife.  In secret, she fell in love with another and conspired to kill Lleu, not out of wickedness but out of longing to break free from the form others cast her into.  As punishment, she was transformed into an owl and cast out into the night, becoming a creature of shadow and silence.  Her story served as a cautionary tale intending to dissuade women from trying to break free from the confines of society.

Seen with modern eyes, her tale speaks of a heroine who fought to escape the limitations of what she was expected to be and, in her transformation, we see her in her truest form, a powerful ally helping us to discover our inner beauty and authentic self while giving us strength to navigate the challenges in the here and now.
